Frequently Asked Questions

How fit / experienced do I need to be?

We cater for all levels experience, from novice through to A-grade racing enthusiasts. When selecting a tour, be sure to consider your ability level as Performance, Adventure or Social. The right selection ensures you will be riding with others of similar ability, making it more enjoyable for all. Routes and distances are also designed based on the type of tour. Performance tours have longer and more challenging routes while Social tours have shorter rides, while still capturing some epic views and great roads.

How many in a group?

Our normal group size is between 4 and 30 riders. Exceptions to this can be catered for as needed.
Our experienced tour guides ensure all groups are briefed on road safety, group-riding rules and hand signals before commencing the ride. Where necessary we split into manageable group sizes to ensure the best and safest experience.

What do I need to bring?

We understand that sometimes it is not easy to bring all your gear with you on holiday. So you can bring all your own gear if you want, or we can supply much of what you need. Regardless, for health and safety reasons you will need to bring your own underwear, socks, helmet and cycle shoes. Depending on the package you order, we can supply gear for you including:

  • Bike

  • Cycle jersey and nicks (yours to keep if included as part of your package)

  • Water bottles

Once you have made a booking contact the team to request any gear you might need.

A special note on your bike

In most cases riders bring their own bikes to our tours. There is nothing worse than when someone’s bike is having issues, distracting from the enjoyment of the tour. To reduce the chance of this happening we suggest you consider the following before joining a tour:

  • Consider having your bike serviced to ensure it is working smoothly. Items to focus on:

    • Well functioning chain and cassette, with plenty of life left in these key components

    • The gears are shifting smoothly

    • The brakes work well

  • Ensure the chain is well lubricated

  • Check tyres for wear. Tyres in good condition will reduce the chance of punctures

  • If you have electronic gearing, ensure the battery(s) are charged

  • Bring a spare tube, tyre levers and pump so you can change a flat on the road

One of the most frustrating things that happens to people on tours is that their bike has issues, reducing
